On April 28, 2022, Mechanical Completion Ceremony was successfully held for Phase I Project of 1.8 million t/a Ethylene Glycol Plant of Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group., which was under the general contract (EPC) of ECEC. The ceremony marked the periodic victory of the project.
On April 3, 2020, ECEC and Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Yulin Chemical Company formally signed the PC general contract of Ethylene Glycol Project. The project is currently the largest coal chemical project under construction in the world. It is located in Qingshui Industrial Park, Yushen Industrial Zone, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, with a total investment of 122.5 billion (CNY), a total area of about 13 km2, and a total of 27 sets of process plants and associated utilities. The whole project will be completed and put into operation in four phases. ECEC undertook the general contracting construction of dimethyl oxalate (DMO), ethylene glycol (EG), intermediate tank farm and associated utilities. The contract value is nearly 3.818 billion (CNY) and the estimated project investment is 26.5 billion (CNY). It can achieve an annual turnover of about 9.7 billion (CNY), contribute about 740 million (CNY) in tax revenue to the state and local governments, and will drive about 18 billion (CNY) in added value of local related industries after completion.
